How it's ranked
Ranked by the nation, not by you.
No personal algorithm decides what you see. We show the posts that are most popular on the ground in your nation, in the same order for everyone who lives there.
- 1We gatherPublic posts from pages in your nation, from the widest mix of sources, visited every day without logging in.
- 2We rankBy engagement for their age: reactions, comments and shares. A new post that grows fast can pass an older one. The top six come from six different pages.
- 3Everyone sees the sameOne feed per nation. Your neighbour sees exactly what you see, in the same order.
What we always do
- Quote every post word for word.
- Show who posted it, and what kind of source they are.
- Show how far it travelled: its engagement, shares and rank.
What we never do
- Tune the feed to you.
- Rewrite a post or add our own headline to it.
- Hide which kind of source a post came from.
Every post shows its source
Sources are told apart by shape, never by colour, so no source looks more trustworthy than another.
- Social media newsPages sharing news on social media.
- Independent mediaIndependent media and journalists.
- Public figurePublic figures and commentators.
- OfficialGovernments and public institutions.
- Mainstream mediaMainstream media: still here, a little.
